A very central location with multi lingual and friendly staff.
The tram for the San Siro stadium stops only 50 meters from the hotel.
Duomo is 250 meters.

Lovely hotel, brilliant staff and super position in the centre of Milan. I have recommended this hotel to my daughter and she is going to spend part of her honeymoon here in May this year! Can't wait for the next time.

Great location, Great service

Hotel Spadari is in a prime location for exploring the city. The staff at the front desk was the best we experienced in all of Italy. They were very attentive and helpful, they made our dinner reservations (and recommendations) and arranged for our travel back to Milan Malpensa airport. When we arrived we were upgraded to a room on the 6th floor with a lovely small balcony. Internet services are free of charge (unlike in other parts of Italy) and a PC is located convenienty in the lobby. Although Spadari doesn't have a restaurant per se, we ordered room service once for lunch and had one of the best meals during our stay. For casual dining, I would recommend restaurant Borromei which is only 5 minutes away, and good for when you want to relax and dine outside. Overall our experience was wonderful at this hotel.

Right in the centre of Milan. 12 euro taxi fare from the station. Situated in a small street a 2 min. walk from the Piazza Duomo making it a fantastic location. Very quiet of a night & the air conditioning was great. Rooms immaculate. The staff were very helpful & friendly and even booked our evening meal for us at the Stendhal Restaurant which was there recommendation. (15 min walk away). This is worth a visit.

My husband and I had a two night stay on our own without the children and the locality and the service of the hotel made the weekend perfect.
Complimentary tea & biscuits were provided in our room on request as well as late night drinks in the foyer.

Continental breakfast provided with choice of omelettes, cereal & fruit. A really good start to the day.

We would love to return to Milan and this is where we would stay.

A great hotel

My wife and I spent three nights at this great hotel. We had an excellent room with a tremendous bathroom. The room was very clean and the breakfasts, which we had in our room each day, were first class. We were greatly impressed that when we ordered breakfast for 8 am that was EXACTLY the time it was delivered. All staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful and they made us very welcome. And to cap it all the location of the hotel could hardly be better. All previous complimentary reviews of this hotel helped us to choose it and they were not wrong in their praise. We were very sad to leave Milan and the Spadari - a great city and a great hotel.

An excellent hotel in an excellent location. The hospitality of the staff is incomparable. The front desk advised great resataurants and made reservations. My room overlooked a quiet courtyard, and could not have been more comfortable. A great value, highly recommended.

Excellent Choice

We arrived late in the evening and had no trouble with our reservation made by phone the same Saturday before Easter.

I would agree with the other Trip Advisor comments, which helped steer us to Spardi. I had been a guest twice in a near by sister hotel, which is less pricey, called Duque di York that suggested Spardi, which was full over Easter.

For our purposes, the location was perfect. One can get on the internet in a room just off the lobby. Our room was pleasant and quiet. The front office staff, which happily included a Brazilian woman, was very helpful.

For 168 Euros/night, the first class Spardi is a good value in this expensive city.

Fantastic location, high standards, good service

You could not ask for a better location - and for a better price! We paid around 180 euro for one standard double room, one night in April 2005. The staff was very helpful and nice, rooms are clean and large. Overall the hotel is very charming and classy. The breakfast was wonderful in the morning. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Duomo, Galleria, Teatro alla Scala. About a 12 minute walk to The Last Supper. We booked on-line with no problems. We got there from Malpensa airport by taking the bus to the Centrale Train Station and then taking a taxi to the hotel (it cost around 12 euro for 4 people with baggage) Enjoy!

Fine hotel in central Milan

Spadari al Duomo hotel is a designer's 4 star hotel in an excellent location in Milan. During our family's first and short visit in Milan hotel location was a must. Indeed, Spadari al Duomo was within walking distance from all major sites and shopping area. Fine breakfast and service, breakfast in room (no extra charge) is recommended as breakfast room is small and it might take some time to be seated. Wished hotel would have family rooms but overall we highly recommend it expecially at the low season rate we booked it in early January.

What a find!!With some wonderful bonuses and great for sightseeing

This is a small boutique hotel that has some amazing features. Yes, the rooms are lovely and spotless as are the bathrooms, all done in the colors of the sea. But in addition, the staff is beyond helpful and friendly without being cloying. They always go the extra extra step to make sure you'll be happy. And they're surprisingly genuine about it. The only time you see attention like that is in a hotel 3 times the price. The lobby is charming with free internet access in the lobby 24/7. There's also a lovely small restaurant in the lobby with wonderful fruit and cookies every day and an absolutely fabulous breakfast. But the location is an extra added treat. It's a block from the duomo which gives you some space from the tourist crowds but easy access and then we discovered something. Departures Magazine had said that if you wanted to see a Leonardo DiVinci without the crowds and long lines of The Last Supper to go to the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana a cloistered library and gallery and you will be the only one there. Well, when we looked it up on the map it was 1/2 a block from the hotel and astoundingly gorgeous. It is recently restored and one room is more wonderful than the next and when you're finished it lets you out into a magnificent ancient courtyard And the guide was right, we were the only ones there. It was the highlight of our Milan visit and this hotel was a few feet from it. Great hotel, great location, great rooms, great staff, great ammenities and very reasonably priced. A no brainer.

Top Local Tips for Milan

Taxi Drivers Rip Off Ensure you always carry 5 and 10 euros with you, the taxi drivers are a rip off. They pretend they dont have change. We gave a 20Euro note from the train station to the Hotel, fare was approx 12 euros, I received about 1 euro back in little coins and he pulled the no english no change trip, I was so pleased to be at the hotel that I let it go, but in hindsight and with the hotel check-in staff telling me this was aregular occurance, dont let it hapen to you. If you dont have small change then get the Hotel porter to get change of deal with the taxi driver. From here on we ensured if we got a taxi we always had small notes or coins.

You need to dress up to shop in Milan If you expect decent service in Milan shops it certainly pays to look the part.Wandering in to Prada etc in jeans will get you ignored.

Local hidden gem was recommended for a genuine local dinning experience to use the Trattoria Meunsuilli, 80 valle umbria. The food was honest local cuisine. not fancy but deffinately an experience not to be missed. Owned and run by the same family for 90 years this is a place the locals want to keep quiet about so that it is not ruined. Fantastic atmosphere, minimal old wourld charm with great food. 4 course diining for 2 with wine 90 euros.
