Top Local Tips for Milan

Wonderful City Go shopping in the old centre, but take plenty of money!

Choosing Hotels and the Metro Our tip of the day, there are plenty of hotels around the central station. If you stand with your back to the station, the hotels to your right (eg. Madison etc) are pretty avoidable, the hotels to your front are a class apart, while those to the left are ok. Also, get a day pass for the Metro... It is a fantastic deal at 3EUR and u can you use it as much as you like, and it departs from the Central Station

Eating near Duomo If you to eat near Duomo on a budget go to 'Ciao'. If you are stood looking at the front of the Duomo, to your left you will see the 'Autogrill'. On the floor above it is a self service restaurant called 'Ciao'. It serves good quality food in good sized portions at very resonable prices. There are lots of seats spread over its own two floors (get a heat cover for your food though just in case there are queues at the tills). We ate lunch here 3 days running! Approx 12 euros for two people - pasta / salad / drink & bread rolls.
