Top Local Tips for Milan

Tram it & Metro It Public transport is cheap and very efficient. Use the tram and Metro! Do not go to Central Station unless you absolutely have to.. pretty seedy there.

Fashion Shopping Corso Como 10, (on Corso Como - nearest metro Garibaldi) is a fabulous designer fashion store with cafe, bar, restaurant, exhibition, bookshop and music store included. It's not for the faint hearted, and ideal for the keen fashionista's. Wonderful labels like Comme des Garcon, Balenciaga, Demuelemeester, and McQueen. Also had an excellent Margeila exhibition on upstairs - a must see!

Don't go in August If you want to go to Milan, August is not the best time to go. Many of the art galleries, specialty shops, and restaurants that I had been excited to experience, were closed in August. This is due to the fact that the Milanese people vacation in August. On the up side, there are numerous close by places to see. We took a day trip to Cinque Terre and to Venice...both were incredible! I will certainly go back to see more of these two places, but not to Milan. Milan could have been done in a day or two...oh well, gotta love Italy anyway!
