I met up with my friend in Milan who was there on business. Her company paid for the hotel, so I have no idea how much it was, but it was very nice! I had just travelled around by myself and stayed in much lesser hotels, so this was a treat for me. There was plenty of room for the two of us and it was very clean and comfortable. Great bathroom. My friend had been there for a month and was very happy with it. The services were great, breakfast was very nice and the location is great. The subway stop is right across the street. You can walk to everything from here. The staff recommended some fabulous restaurants and great places to walk around at night. Coffee down in the bar was nice, too. Save money on taxis by going across the street to the subway, take the subway to either the bus station or the Malpensa express train station, and then you can get to the Malpensa airport very easily and inexpensively. When I checked out, the bellman took my bag and carried it into the subway entrance for me, got my ticket for me, and off I went. talk about helpful.

Historical Traveller Reviews of Dei Cavalieri Hotel

Hotel was great, staff were not!

from A TripAdvisor Member
My partner and i stayed in the Dei Cavalieri 27-30 July 2005. The location of the hotel was great, only 5 minute walk to Il Duomo and the shopping. You can hear the maids working on a morning, opening and closing doors etc, but that wasnt a problem as we get up early. Might be a problem for some who like to sleep later than 7.30-8.00am.
After returning to UK (4 hours after checking out) i found an item of designer clothing missing from my bags. I rang the hotel asking them to re-check the room and send it on and as they had my credit card number, and to take payment for postage from that. The hotel was not helpful at all and said the housekeeper would have thrown it away. Yeah right! I am very disappointed in their lack of help as to replace this item of clothing would cost more than the whole trip did.
By the way.....I checked the room before i left and there was nothing in the room so make your own mind up!

Great Location

from debs25
This hotel was centrally located for all the main attractions, although it is clearny aimed at business travellers. Our room was failry small but comfortable, and you could not fault the cleanliness. The description on the expedia website was not as accurate as we would have liked - we were expecting a lot more than we actually got ie no sign of the king size bed, bathrobes, etc. There were also no tea and coffee facilities provided in the room, although there was an expensive minibar! I would stay here again though, as it is in such a great location for Milan centre.

Nice hotel with great location

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 1 night in July 05. We stayed in a double room on a sunday night and paid £64, which included breakfast.

We arrived around 7pm on what was a hot day, so the air conditioning in the lobby was welcoming. Check-in was efficient, we were offered help to take our bags to our room but declined it.

The size of our room was fine (by UK standards) - it wasn't huge but was clean, spacious and air-conditioned. A problem was the view out of the room window: a concrete pillar obscured most of it. We would have asked to have been moved to another room but we were only staying one night and were about to go out for an evening meal. I've attached a picture I took of the room so you can see for yourself. I poked my head out of the window and several rooms to my left also had similar pillars.

Breakfast was a cold buffet and was fine. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and she found plenty to eat. Lots of staff on hand.

The hotel is situated no more than a 5 minute walk from the Duomo and tube station, so is in a great location.

We would stay at the hotel again if in Milan and could get a similarly priced room.

We found three negatives:
1. One of the male receptionist on check-in was a little off-hand. I tried out my best Italian phrases on him and he seemed a little disparaging. However, all other staff were friendly and courteous.
2. The view from our room, as mentioned.
3. Check-out was midday. You can keep your luggage at the hotel if you want to explore the City some more. When we returned mid-afternoon, we found our luggage (along with everyone elses) stored on the stairway. We thought this was a security and safety risk.

For you music fans - piped music is played throughout the lobby, breakfast room and hotel corridors. We checked in to 'La Freak' by Chic while 'In The Navy' by Village People escorted our leaving.

Good location, but the noise.......

from dertien
The location of this hotel is very good, and the room size is also generous. But the room smelled very musty and the air conditioning sounded like we were sleeping in a train and it was too warm to turn if off, we were also put next to the lifts which are very noisy, this meant we did not have a good night sleep and it spoiled the one day in Milan we had. Breakfast was reasonable but there are too many staff wandering around the breakfast room.

We did find an excellent non smoking Pizzeria around the corner called Dollar which I would highly recommend.

Great Value! Great Location!

The rooms were very spacious and clean. Very modern looking. Location is very close to the Duomo and Shopping. Breakfast is also great. However, staff were not very friendly.

Great location, very comfortable rooms

from fdipace
For the price you cannot find a better value in Milan. The hotel is very modern inside. The rooms are clean, the beds very comfortable, there is a safe in the room and most important the air conditioning system works great. (This is not always true in Europe!) The hotel is two blocks from the Duomo. The hotel is centrally located for shopping and site seeing. The view from the the roof top is stunning. The breakfast included in the price is also very good. I have stayed in other hotels is Milan before if you are looking for high end hotel try the Principe de Savoy. The Sheraton Diane is also a nice hotel for young hip people although make sure to request a room with two beds or you will be subjected to the extremely, extremely small single rooms.

Great Locatin

from ASB
Just returned from a long weekend in Italy. Spent 2 days and 1 night in Milan at the Dei Cavalieri.
Great Location, just minutes from all the attractions and the staff were amazingly helpful.
The only slight downside was that the walls of the rooms were thin and you could hear guests in the corridors and the maids working.
Overall I would definately recommend this hotel.

a great, relaxing stay

from nerdface
My husband and I stayed one night in Hotel Dei Cavalieri in May 2005. We found a great deal on Expedia for $111 and it was one of the best deals we've found on European hotels in a major city like this. I suppose many Americans coming to Europe for the first time might say the room is small, but in European standards, our double (king bed) room was bigger than most hotels here. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us good dinner recommendations and helpful driving directions. And we were happy when we arrived to find out that breakfast was included, which Expedia hadn't informed us. Overall, I highly recommend staying here!

great location, nice hotel, fine value

from A TripAdvisor Member
just off the Piazza del Duomo, right by a tube station which is on the yellow line which goes to Centrale (the main rail station) and the Duomo stop, such good double glazing that it was very quiet despite being by a busy square with tram lines, nice sunny room, breakfast included, £70 a night including breakfast for twin room, near to the famous Peck deli, and its gourmet restaurant Cracco-Peck, a short walk from the Duomo, La Scala, staff helpful enough, and all in all an excellent deal. would go again, and recommend it to others. it isn't a designer place, nor a really cute family run place, but it is neat, clean, effective.

Nice rooms. Some of staff was a bit unfriendly

from ou_chot
Rooms were excellent. Hotel was very nice. Location was very good, near the Duomo and the subway. Our check-in staff was a bit unfriendly. When asked for a recommendation for a restaurant, I thought I overheard one of the staff say they did not want to help. Other members were more than helpful though.
