Top Local Tips for Milan

Milan a nice stop while traveling thru Italy We decided to stop for a 2 nights stay in Milan on our way by train from Rome to Milan. Many friends were commenting as to why we made the stop. Well, I love shopping, Milan is after all the capital city of fashion, why not? Well, I was not disappointed. I did not buy much, because it was very expensive but for window shopping this is the place to be. Milan is a clean, safe city which is very welcoming. Getting around the city via the Metro or by foot is very easy and very safe.

Airport transportation Use public transportation for travel from and to airports. Taxis are very expensive, and don't save much time. For Malpensa, there's a comfortable train every half hour; for Linate, a public bus (fare only one euro).

Malpensa Airport If you fly into/from Malpensa Airport there's a great train service called the Malpensa Express which takes you into central MIlan in under 40 minutes. It costs about 10 euros and runs every 30 minutes. There is also a coach service, but this can take ages once it hits the traffic in Milan especially at rush hour. It's only slightly cheaper, so spend the extra and get there quickly by train.
