Fantastic
This hotel is in a superb location. The staff are really helpful - from the cleaners to the waiters and reception staff. The food in the evening is amazing (especialy the gala dinner nights). We had a lake view which was really beautiful - the only 1 bad point is the room os a little small but everything else more than makes up for it - I would reccomend this hotel.

Unfriendly
Great location. That's about all this hotel has going for it. Unfriendly, unhelpful reception/management. Limited facilities. Don't ask for an iron. Even if you are going to a wedding and want to iron your gear, they will refuse to loan you one. This is not a 4 star hotel ! ! Stay at the Hotel Capri opposite !!!

Better than we had expected
This was a last minute booking and we did not know to which hotel we were heading. Only that it was a 4 star on Lake Garda. We were delighted with Malcesine and with the hotel. The location was perfect, the room was calm and spotlessly clean with fluffy white towels renewed each day, the food was always interesting and the staff were helpful and friendly. We appreciated the music on the terrace, particularly the cool saxophonist and the air conditioning was essential during a heatwave. The situation, just a little stroll from the town centre and right by the lake, was perfect. We loved it and would happily recommend it.

Excelsior Bay
This hotel is in a wonderful position on Lake Garda. The food in 2004 was superb although the service a bit slow due to the amount of people staying there. The first room we were assigned to was not worthy of a 2 star never mind a 4 star! However, when I complained (not something the staff were happy about) we were eventually given another room. In a less favourable position but at least it had a sliding wardrobe and not the small and cheap one of the first bedroom. The bathroom was spotless, again not like the first bathroom which had mould growing on the ceiling! So I only give it 3stars because of it's location and the food.
