The hotel has beautiful grounds, the retaurant and food was excellent with friendly, helpful waiters and barman, however, the manager requires at least 12 months in charm school and a course on customer relations!!
The bedroom we had required updating into the 21st century and some of our group were given bedrooms in seperate building within the hotel grounds.
I would say that the food and grounds compensated for the disappointing bedrooms

Top Local Tips for Malcesine

Taxis We did not use the taxis, but understood that there are only three in Malcesine. On airport transfer days it is almost impossible to book one.

Pool Sun loungers - Towels are provided so dont pack any best view and sun all day was at the pool on the beds to far edge of pool area.

Staying with young children "Child-friendly" healthy menus and small portions are virtually non-existent for kids. Beware of walking along the roadside with children - drivers and bikers do not stop at zebra crossings, the roads are narrow and double-parking is the norm! There were motorbikes everywhere, all of the time. I would suggest ordering taxis via your restaurant or hotel as they are few and far between - it was often difficult to flag one down in the street.
