Do not stay at the Reginna Palace

This is among the worst hotels I have ever been in. It does not merit its 4 stars. Decor is outdated and shabby, the room small, the bathroom so small that the door almost touched the toilet. The TV was also miniscule. There was a terrible leak in the bathroom which spread into the bedroom, about which we informed staff immediately but nothing was done. There was also a water shortage for which no apology was made. Breakfasts were primitive. The owner had the audacity to tell us that we caused the leak by not showering properly. Awful.

Top Local Tips for Maiori

Maiori - Don't take a car! The Amalfi Drive which runs through Maiori, is fantastic for passengers, but a nightmare for the driver. The safest time to drive is after dark, so you can see headlight's shining on the rocks amd barriers so you get some warning. Apart from that, take a bus or a taxi, then you can soak up the scenery instead of battling with the maniacs on the road. Italians drivers are fine anywhere else in Italy, but on the Amalfi Road, they have a need to die in a head on collision. If you're on holiday, take public transport! My tip to get to Maiori would be to get the train from Naples to Salerno then get a cab. It might take longer, but you'll arrive safe and without frayed nerves.
