Very clean, staff very rude, food terrible

Very nice hotel right on the beach, would be OK for bed only as the staff and management are so rude I think they are in the wrong business as for the food it wasn't the best.

As an addendum to my review there is a recent change in management at Hotel Capitol. The new owners, Family Loreta and Bruno Capeleto, are good professionals and pledge to keep the same family-atmosphere.
Renovations are in process: new pool, hall, bar, etc for 2007 and all the rooms will be updated in 2008!!

We stayed for 4 nights in this beach front hotel. It is a family hotel operation (Pavan-Oliveti families) and we were very pleased with the friendly contact with the brother and sister who were running the hotel. We received a free upgrade to two adjacent rooms so that our two kids (6,10) had one room and we had the adjoining one. The rooms were simple and small on american standards but clean. One of the shower drains was not working well but they came and fixed it when we reported it. The kids had great fun in the hotel swimming pool or on the beach in front of the hotel. It is a great relaxing stop before or after going to Venice if you travel with kids. The hotel price includes a very nice breakfast buffet with varied items (really good croissants and other pastries, fruits, cheeses, a variety of hams, etc.), including a fresh fruit juicer and cappucinos and you can sit inside or outside to relax and enjoy the ocean view. Of course the italian beach front is covered with hotels and the beach is not the carribean. The sand is black and waves can be strong so it is important to watch the kids and occasionally there can be small jellyfish that can sting. The staff at the hotel was very professional and friendly at the same time, and they were very impressive with their ability to interact with customers in a variety of languages. Children were welcome and customers were free to sit on the terrace in bathing suits if they felt like it. The hotel has an inside play area for toddlers, a downstairs elegant restaurant and there is free internet access from a computer in the lobby. People were friendly in general except the independent owner of the pedalo boats in front of the hotel who was unhappy because we were building a sandcastle in the way his boats were pulled out of the water. There is a ferry service directly from Jesolo to Venice that takes about 50 min and is relatively inexpensive. We would definitively return to the same hotel if we are in the area.

Take the airport bus Regular bus service from Marco Polo Airport to centre of Jesolo costs around €6 per person as opposed to €50+ for a taxi.
