it was warm but not unbearable, a bit busy but never crowded we thought due to the travel time Mid July - August we would be in crowds all over but this was not the case! we had plenty of space and only waited one evening for dinner (30 min.) other than that it was pleasant to roam the streets, take the train and relax by the beach. the heat was not bad. the nights cool down a ton. only needed a very thin light sweater and i am always cold. plenty of places to wine and dine. even off the beaten path have PLENTY of places to eat/stay. we loved vacationing amongst the local and an abundant amount of elders caring for young children. it appears locals leave their children with grandparents in this area so it is quaint and quiet.
