Top Local Tips for La Spezia

Cinque Terre Definately do the Cinque Terre walk. The people at the train station were very helpful. You buy a day pass that lets you do the walk and gets you on the train - it's a 24 hour day pass, so you're not restricted on when you have to come back. The train takes you to each of the 5 villages so you can choose what you want to do. We started in Monterosso and then made our way down to Riomaggiore, so we did the hardest walks first, which i think is the way to go, get them out of the way first. But the towns are so amazingly gorgeous. We stayed in Riomaggiore for the sunset and to watch the lights go on to take some great night shots. Would do the walk again, and would consider staying in either Vernazza or Manorola - these 2 were really beautiful. A must do!!!!!! Make sure you wear runners/trainers as it's not a regaular walking path. In total it took us about 8 hours to do, that included stopping to take photos along the walk & in the villages to look around and sunbake!

attractions Be sure to walk the town to the wonderful undercover food markets, the shops and restaurants and down to the waterfront to sit and watch the world go by.

Self service laundry, Via Fiume, La Spezia, Italy Self service laundry, Via Fiume, La Spezia, Italy (Laundrette Mezzona La Spezia Cinque Terre) just nearby the main railway station. Eight kilos of laundry wash and dry just 7 euros in 70 mins. They have two 8kg washing machines and two 14kg. Two dryers are 18kg.
