Top Local Tips for Ischia

Ponte d'Ishcia It's worth going there to visit the castle on the rock which is connected to the main island by a small road. The views from the top are fantastic and the castle itself is very interesting, especially the nuns' cemetery.

Umberto a Mare In Forio, underneath the white church on the cliff, is a fabulous restaurant. Lovely views, great food - although very pricey compared to the rest of the island!

getting around Use the buses- they are great. As far as I can tell you can reach all attractions and all parts of the island via the bus. Get a good map and pick out a few interesting places to visit before you get there. It is easy to get off the main drag and when you do it is peaceful and rewarding.
