I spent 12 days at Il Meandro and they were wonderful. The owners (three sisters) treat visitors as guests in their own homes. In addition to their native Italian, each sister speaks a different language (English, German and French) so that no one has a communication problem. The hotel is spotlessly clean, which is always my number one priority, with every modern convenience.. The meals are excellent. I chose the half-pension so that I enjoyed a buffet breakfast and a three course (plus salad bar) dinner daily. The views from the hotel (my room overlooked the lake) are stupendous. The only problem, if you would call it a problem, is that the hotel is located on a bit of a hill and, at the end of the day, climbing was a bit of a problem for me as I have bad knees. Otherwise, this is a heavenly hotel located in a true Paradise.
