A LOVELY SMALL HOTEL

I have just returned from a week in the resort of Garda staying at the tiny (12 rooms) Miralago hotel. The UK brochure gave it a 3* rating, I notice on these pages it is 1*. The low rating may reflect the fact that this hotel is tiny, more a restaurant with rooms, but what a restaurant! The tables spill out onto the lakeside promenade and the food is superb - open to non residents it is one of the most popluar eating places in Garda with seafood a speciality. The nice thing about this is that you can book (we booked through Crystal Lakes & Mountains who have UK exclusivity) half board and take evening meal anytime between 7pm and restaurant closing (very late) and eat as the Italians do. No stuffy dining room where the food is geared to the British taste. The rooms are small, but spotlessly clean and have modern bathroom with shower, air conditioning, hairdryer, safe, mini bar, we had a balcony overlooking the lake. the hotel is situated just minutes from the ferry departure point, so is very central. It is surrounded by pavement cafes and shops. Thoroughly recommend, and will definitley go back there.

Not being booked in full board we weren't obliged to eat there, but did so 4 nights out of seven and their food was way and above any other we had on the lake, including 6 nights stayed elsewhere on our motoring holiday.
The staff are good, polite and attentive also. Highly recommeded by us and all I can say is that of the other guests an awful lot seemed to have been to The Miralago time and time again.
