| Get rid of the night porter!!!! |
|
I had a wonderful holiday in Lake Garda. The hotel is in a great location, good pool, good spacious rooms. Breakfast on the terrace is wonderful with a very good and varied selection. The dining room however is too hot. If it has air-con it needs to be turned up or on! The food is fine but plainer would be better, the chef is inclined to be a bit ambitious.
But the big downside of the hotel - and the reason that I have returned to Garda but not the Excelsior is the NIGHT PORTER. He was a particularly nasty individual. He refused to serve us drinks on several occasions - and this was 11pm! Closing time was supposed to be 12.00 - 12.30am. and residents could be served later, but not in the Excelsior. I would love to know if he's still there. |

Nice location on lake. Rooms comfortable if a little basic. Basic continental breakfast. Night porter not keen on after midnight arrivals. Would stay again though. |
