My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Astoria from 30 July to 6 August 2008 and enjoyed everything about this small, friendly hotel close to the lake front and local shops. The weather as one would expect was very warm. Our en suite room was very clean and cozy with a good size double wardrobe with sufficient hangers for our clothes. The room was air-conditioned also. The en suite shower room was a good size and included a bidet. We were booked in for half-board and the choice of food for breakfast and dinner was excellent, as were the helpful staff and waiters. The fact that the hotel did not have a pool was insignificant since there were lots of places nearby along the lakeside where one could relax, sun-bathe and swim in the beautiful lake. Alternatively hotel guests can use the pool and grounds located at the Hotel Oasi about 20-30 minutes walk from the Astoria on Via Don Gnocchi, which we used on one occasion. Really close to the lake front and shopping. Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent room, and with an ensuite that, unusually for Italy, included a bidet. Clean and tidy. Best value for money in Garda. |
