This hotel is situated in a prime position on the sea front, has excellent swimming pools, fitness facilities and is expensively fitted out the costs are appropriately high in proportion to this sort of location, although we thought our room and bathroom were very small for the price paid.
At the time of our visit, it appeared that there were not enough staff to cope with demand this was evidenced particularly at breakfast time (we went down at 9am) when there were wholesale shortages of fruit juices (and glasses, plastic cups being used) fruit and egg and bacon. These last two items disappeared very quickly and it was 40 minutes before they were replenished, only to be snapped up whereupon the facility was closed.
There is one small lift which is used not only for guests but also the porters looking after cases, and the cleaning staff in the morning. This results in many people using the stairs to all levels.
The entrance is imposing but, being purely approached by steps, is not at all sympathetic to older or handicapped guests and the appearance of porters to help was not always evident.
Lastly the car parking for residents appeared to be very haphazard, some porters doing the job properly while others merely took the guest to the garage, opened the gate and left them to it.
