Simply the best hotel design I have ever seen. From the moment you reach the under lit cobbles at the drive way to the minute to hit you walk throught a baroque painting into your room - feeling like a rock star.
Not to mention the funky bar and reception.

This Hotel is a must - it rocks!

Simply the best

from dave7814
Stayed for two nights. The hotel is a bit off the central tourist attractions, but its nonetheless close to them (only 20 mins walk, 5-7 mins drive). Most of the staff are very friendly, and the restaurant is very decent. The room I stayed in was huge and clean. Did I mention the hotel is very stylish and modern? You can't go wrong choosing this hotel. Would definitely stay there again next time.

Great

Wonderfull lobby and bar. Extremely creative room decor. Great Breakfast.

I loved the hotel and enjoyed my stay. Only problem was it was too far from the local attractions, and the walk was too much after a long day of sightseeing.

Loved Una Hotel Vittoria

Florence was the last stop on our Italy tour in June, 2004, and, without knowing it, this was the nicest hotel we booked. A small boutique hotel, it was very fashionable. The rooms were very modern and had excellent electronic accomodations. The bathrooms were tight, but luxurious. The hotel was located nearby the train station, and within walking distance of the River. A short bus-ride got us to the main attractions which were always packed. We took a day trip in a cheap rental car (get full insurance!) and went to Montevarchi (the shopping outlets), the Chianti area (wine tasting & lunch) finishing in Sienna (no crowd, beautiful Doumo & great gelato). Don't be affraid to get out of Florence to avoid the crowds. Even though this place is a chain -- I will definitely stay at this place, or it's siblings, again.

Great Spot Outside of the Tourist Zone

My husband and I recently spent one week at the Una Vitorria for our honeymoon. The hotel was one of the best and most pleasant experiences we have ever had traveling abroad. It is very funky and the rooms are small compared to US stardards for a luxury hotel. Our room was great with it's funkified look and gadgets. Very comfortable bed. The staff was extemely helpful and well informed, not only of the usual tourist destinations, but also of the less traveled tourist spots that made the trip more exciting. The hotel is off the beaten path, near La Porta Frediano, in a residental area about a 15 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio and the bustling tourist area. Along the several paths one could take walking into town, there are many interesting shops, restaurants, markets and local merchants that cater to the surrounding neighborhood. Even though it is removed from the main hotel locations, it is easy to find. The continental breakfast was good and had a variety of food to meet the tastes of European travelers as well as Americans. The bar is nice for an evening night cap after a long day discovering Florence. The bartenders are well versed in english are are good for some humor or finding out your next restaurant desitnation. If you are the adventuresome kind of traveller and want something different out of your next visit to Europe, you will not be disappointed with the Una Vitorria.

highly recommend this hotel

This hotel is an excellent deal. It is clean, stylish, and efficient. In fact, it was featured in the September 04 issue of Travel & Leisure for the decor. This was the best hotel we stayed at during our 9 day trip to Italy.

While the bedroom itself is quite small, we did not feel claustrophobic. The bathroom is comparatively large. No peep show experience with the shower stall - ours was frosted glass, in constrast to the doors of other reviewers. Also in contrast to other reviews, we found the carpet to be clean, and the hotel not seedy in the least.

We enjoyed staying at a peaceful corner of the city - fewer tourists, lower prices, and near a cheap supermarket.

Unique, special and great

We were there only 1 night, but it ws special, very close to the Ponte Vecchio, 10 min walk, breakfast
a little bit expensive, but just in front there is a delicious coffe shop and very cheap. The roon was very different to anothers hotels I was. Furniture was very modern, a huge TV and in the bathroom all stuff perfect.

Alice in Wonderland Meets Bladerunner

from mykel67
We stayed here for two nights in August, and checked out with mixed feelings about this property. My partner HATED it. He felt it tried too hard to be edgy and different, and in the process sacrificed comfort and ambience. I, however, thought it was interesting, although it seemed much more "Las Vegas" than Florence. Don't let the plain white stucco exterior fool you. Inside lurks a psychedelic mosaic entrance, a surreal seating arrangement in the bar, a "Michael Jackson Billie Jean" elevator, and pitch black hallways. The rooms are small, almost claustrophobic, but what they lack in space, they make up for in technology and special touches: plasma television, pin lights, mirrors, clever storage, robes and slippers, and a well equipped bathroom (although we had a good laugh over the fact that the shower's glass wall provides a great "show" for the person waiting). The decor, however, is beginning to turn from edgy to seedy. Our white carpet was covered in black and grey splotches, and the padded walls around our bed had unsettling stains that made our room feel like a "no-tell Motel". This is definitely a hotel for young adults and not families or the elderly. Our cab ride from the train station made it seem like the hotel was extremely far from all of the sights, but it was actually only a 20 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio, so we were pleasantly surprised. I'm still not sure how I feel about this place... I think it was a decent value (about 100 Euro) compared to the inflated prices at the downtown properties, and the staff was very friendly, helpful and professional, but someone needs to improve the upkeep of the rooms and common areas to keep the hotel feeling fresh and modern instead of dark and seedy.

Una BELLA Hotel!

from RosieLeeM
Excellent hotel!!! This hotel was by far the best we stayed in while in Italy. A 4 star hotel at 3 star price! A little bit of a walk to centro, but not too far. I stayed with my family of 5, and while I didn't see any other kids there except mine, we all had a great time. The kids were especially impressed with the unique design of the rooms. True, though, there is a glass wall to the shower, so not much privacy. My 14-year-old son showered in his bathing suit! However, the executive suite did have a door closing off the bathroom from the rest of the room.

Breakfast was more than I expected for a contintental breakfast.

Overall, a wonderful stay!

Best deal in Florence

3.5 to 4 stars is not enough. We were in an executive suite and it was great. It is a little psychadelic, but you never loose interest. Design and function in the room are great. Probably not a "family and kids" hotel, but perfect for lovers. Mirrors and fiber optic lights on the walls are great. Remote controls for everything. Glass wall to the shower allow a great view from the foyer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had some poor service at the bar, but Laura at the desk was marvelous with everything. it is not directly at the heart of Florence, but it is a quick walk of cab to everything. I'll be staying again.

Cool and modern, stay here!!!

This hotel is great!!! We stayed here for two nights of our six week European vacation in mid July 2004, and it is one of my favorite hotels of the trip. It is clean, comfy, has cool decor and is cheaply priced. It is only a 20 minute walk to downtown and all the sights. The staff was very helpful with maps, etc. Make sure to go to the outdoor markets and buy lots of pashminas, they are so expensive in the US. Also,if you are in to designer, go to the Gucci, Prada, and Fendi outlets about a 30 minute train ride outside of the city. It is so cheap!! I will be back to Florence, and will be staying here!!!!

Florence by foot. Much of Florence can be seen by foot. However, know that taxis will not pick you up unless you have called one to your hotel or a taxi stand. They are not hailed as in the US.

walknig Take good walking shoes.... there is so much to see and you will miss it on a bus or taxi.....
