Top Local Tips for Florence

Day Trips We wanted to see as much of Italy as we could and found the train service fantastic, with the hotel being so close to the train station we were able to make day trips to Rome, Pisa and Venice very easly.

Skip Pisa Wish we had not wasted the time to go get a picture at Pisa. After you see the tower, there's NOTHING to do there, except run the risk of getting robbed. Instead take the Segway tour of Florence-GREAT FUN!

Good restaurant Ristorante della Spada was very good. Good melanzane (aubergine), bistecca alla fiorentina (steak) with roast potatoes, chocolate and pear tart, and tiramisu.
