Top Local Tips for Florence

Wine tasting trip to Chianti A trip to Chianti organised by tour guides including wine tasting is a perfect way to enhance your trip to Florence. The organisers go to different locations. We booked the trip with the evening meal. The food turned out to be a disappointment. We ate a restaurant call "Tapa." I suspect due to the large group, we fell victim to poor quality and small portions. The meal was definitely not worth the extra 30 Euro they charged for the meal.

Best food in town Stay away from the restaurants on the main piazza's, they are overpriced and are not known for their quality food. Dine in the Florence market hall instead. Its incredably cheep with large portions and tastes like Italy should taste like. Go early as these eateries are very popular with the locals.

Our romantic week in Florence Try the nice street restaurant just a minimal walking distance (max 200 yards) from the J an J. You can get a really delicious and beautifully served 3-course meal for two at only EUR 40, including nice wines. But you must accept to literally sit out on the street... Unforgettable.
