Top Local Tips for Florence

Florence museums Don't underestimate the cost of museum entrances. Pre-book at busy times and if you are going to the Ufizzi Gallery and have a prebooked time, remeber to go to gate 3 first to get the actual tick before quing at gate 1!! If you are going to see the David at the Accademia, when you hav efinished in teh hall do not exit as the signs suggest but take the stairs up to the right, there are several almost empty galleries of tryptichs and embroderies that every one misses because they follow the exit signs.If you take the train, don't forget to punch your ticket before boarding as the fine can be 40 euros

Students Try to avoid the time when students are visiting the city - it is worth going when they are less numerous. The Museums and Art on view, albeit at a price, are quite outstanding.

Book your visit to the Ufizzi gallerie There is a telephone where you can book your visit to the museum/gallery. The line otherwise is more than 2 hours (I spent 3 hours and 20 minutes and I have seen double length lines....
