Get advice We found the restaurants generally disappointing. We should have asked the hotel for advice and got some ideas.

Touring Florence with teens Walking Tour of Florence with ArtViva was great … about 3 hours long; 25 Euros each adult, 20 Euros for our son & 15 Euros for our daughter. Our tour guide was a young, knowledgeable American woman called Sylvia, born in Atlanta, raised in Florida until she was 13 when her antique-dealing parents moved the family to Ireland. Educated at Trinity College in Dublin & married to a Russian born Art Historian who was doing research for a book he’s writing. She kept us and our children completely engaged with tales about Michelangelo and the Medici & Pazzi families. We came away feeling as if we might have known them. Very entertaining, informative & highly recommended Accademia: Better option with kids than the Uffizzi which is approximately 3 hours of religious paintings and their eyes would have rolled back in their heads. Booked my tickets in advance, strolled right in with virtually no wait. 1 hour start to finish with the audiotour: David is the highlight
