Italians strike Remember, Italians can strike at the drop of a hat--work slowdown for 2 hours stopped visitors from entering museums

Dont use the change booths located around town I changed some money at one of these locations (thankfully not much only £40). It turns out they have a 19cent surcharge per Euro changed (this is not clearly stated), plus a 3.95 Euro fee, in all worked out on this small amount this cost me 25%, what an absolute rip off..!!! When I tried to argue the issue and cancel the exchange the cowboy running the booth said that she couldnt as a reciept had already been issued. This is clearly some scam, but the booths look so official.

Tourists Remember Florence will at all times of the year be crawling with t0urists like yourself. If you are travelling independently, do book for the major museums and galleries in advance on line, and when generally exploring start early and use times when the usual crowdsare thinnest- i.e. early morning, lunchtime, late afternoon.
