We rent a car on the island to move, because there wasn't many public transport vehicles there, it was the stuff from the hotel to arrange it for us. We hope to come back soon to live another experience of sunny and relax vacancy in this elba hotel.

Top Local Tips for Elba
Some tips about the island come with a car or rent one one the island, because it is a large island. In august it is very crowdie and you will pay much more for everything. Nightlife is not so good , and there is only one coin laundry
Capo Sant Andrea Great beach - staff at bars along the beach are lovely. A hidden gem - busy b. not as bad as other Elba beaches
Watch out for Ferry prices It seems that the ferry companies that go to Elba are not that serious, so the prices may change depending on the amount of passengers they have. In Portoferraio you can buy the tickets at the harbour or in small kiosks in the road getting there. If you buy the tickets through the internet be aware that they charge 10€ extra just for the booking, so it may be wothy to get your tickets in Portoferraio, altough in high season you may end up with no ticket. We pais 150€ in total for the ticket back and foth from Portoferraio for two people and a car.

We have traveled extensively for years and it is our opinion tat Hotel Ilio and Maurizio Testa represent the finest of beautiful nature holidays. Maurizio Testa and the staff are warm, caring, and the menus are just as stated - flavorful fresh with the very delicate Isola d'Elba wines (I wish we could enjoy them in San Francisco). Go, enjoy the warm hospitality, see the lovely Cap San Andrea and surrounding sights. It is truly a lovely experience.
