Do not be mislead by charming!

The hotel is graded as 3 star but I fail to see how they managed to get the rating. The owners/management are surly and customer service is not something that comes naturally. The rooms are tiny and unless the piste is open to the hotel you will be out on a limb with a 30 minute walk. Dinner is good but wine is expensive, be careful when you order as English is not spoken and house wine is 15 euros minimum. Breakfast is basic and no fresh fruit or hot food is offered. Cereal, ham, processed cheese, orange squash and dry bread is the best you will get at the time of writing. The bar is only open when you request a drink and it could be a long wait. Be careful, you cannot pay as you go for a drink, if you are lucky enough to get the family's attention. I have just spent a week trying to escape from the place. You either have apres ski in Courmayeur or you are destined to a very expensive and dull evening in Dolonne. There are no buses to get back to Courmayeur and a taxi will cost you 16 euros to get there and back. Would recommend for a hermit that does not like people and enjoys walking and aggravation.
