Excellent central llocation for exploring the Dolomites. Covara is surrounded by beautiful mountains which offer an abundance of skiing and hiking terrain. As part of the Alto Adige, visitors tend to be Italian or German (the area is primarily German-speaking). There are several world class retaurants in the area (e.g., St. Hubertus in San Cassiano) and the food and wines are very different from the rest of Italy. September is a reat time to go for hiking.

Bus routes Make full use of the bus route network both in winter and summer. Excellent links exist to places such as Brunico ( well worth a visit)
