first World war trenches If you have a car, I'd advise a trip to the First world War trenches. I know what you're thinking but we're not talking about the somme here, we're talking about trenches carved into the dolomite mountains. You take a cable car up there and just take in the incredible views and mooch about at will. You can do as much or as little as you want and then get a beer or cappucino at the mountaintop bar. It get's abit blowy even in summer so take a jumper or windcheater!
