This is a very charming hotel, nice view, nice sand, but the breakfast nearly killed me. I had a bad meal hear that actual sent me to the medics once I returned to Austria. There were also trash bags near the back window to my room........

Rat in the room!!!!

The place was great, the sun was shining, it was a good spot to honeymoon, the staff was a bit gruff but we didn't mind, the maid staff didnt steal anything like our other hotels. This is the good news, the bad news is I awoke at 3 am to a rat staring me in the face!!! I'll let you decide if you would like to stay there.....nice but watch out for the rat.

To much and not enough

Well at check in I was a little skeptical because of the fact that the lobby is shabby. It turned out to be a nice clean place at second glance, but when I went to get a shower I had no hot water....I had to be moved into another room, this one was not cleaned in time and had sticky sheets......Had to sleep on the small sofa. Next day I got a good sun burn on the beach and then went back to relax and found out that this new room had not water at all now.....they need to get the place fixed better. I would not recommend.

I had the worst stay......

Every one writes about how great this place is, but when I went there I had a different experiance. The Manager change our room rate when we arived. We also had booked a longer stay but were told our room was unavalable and that we had to leave after one night! At this point I was very mad, and then we were charged for both nights.....very unreliable. Please for a relaxing stay try some were else where they wont take your money and your time.

We stayed last September at La Tosca in Capri for 5 nights.
It was the nicest place stayed during our Italy vacation.
The hotel has been totally renovated, nice rooms, very clean and great breakfast.
It's located in the center but in a quite area!
It really is a lot more than one star hotel, we consider it a 3 star hotel and may be also more comparing it with some other experiences we had in Italy.
Everybody spoke English at the hotel and they were so sweet and helpful.
We suggest La Tosca to everyone.

We spent 5 nights at La Tosca and we enjoy very very much!
The hotel has been completely renovated, nice confortable clean rooms, nice bathrooms and great breakfast too!
Great center location.
Warm and very helpful staff, everybody spoke good english! We really recommend this one star hotel but we really feel that is more than only one star! We will go back at la Tosca in 2007!

Top Local Tips for Capri

Private boat tour Consider taking a private boat tour around the Isle. It's beautiful.

Sunset at lighthouse Take a bus to Anacapri, switch buses and take the bus to the lighthouse at the edge of the island. Go late in the afternoon. Take a dip in the water. There are two bars overlooking the water. Sip a glass of pinot grigio while watching the sunset.

Amazing Capri Don't miss a trip to the Isle of Capri, if you're in this part of Italy. It is perfect--amazing scenery, history, lovely walks to take, fabulous restaurants, designer stores to gawk at, quaintness, activities. It has it all. Plan to spend at least one night, as the daytrippers aren't there at night, and you can enjoy Capri so much more. I liked the Town of Capri much better than Anacapri.
