I found the hotel to be a good value after shopping other hotels online. The value rating went up after we arrived and found the location to be excellent. The train station is across the street and we love the Italian train system. The neighborhood does not seem to suffer from the presence of the station as Rome does from the Termini. Buses for the airport also leave from there so that is another plus. If you are bothered by noise..the double window system stops all noise. The room was a little small by some standards but big enough. The bathroom was first rate and all the fixtures are easy to use and worked perfectly. All the usual amenities were present and the room is spotless every day (we stayed 6 days). The bed was outstanding by any standard. Breakfast is typically Italian, done with pride in a very nice room. The staff bends over backward for you and that is no exaggeration. One of the lady desk staff had been mulling over where to suggest we go for a side trip before we even asked her. We had decided to jump a train to Ferrara even though we had a car in the garage. She printed out the train schedule for us and we walked across the street to the station and were looking out a train window in 20 minutes. Excellent restaurant recommendations from staff and there is no reason to eat at the same place more than once. It would help to have a computer to borrow to get on line but again, across the street to the right hand edge of the station is an internet cafe which lets you use theirs for 3 euro per hour. Bicycles are for rent there also. We did not use their bar or lounge so I can't speak to that. My rating of 8 is high for me so my 8 may be someone elses 9. My rating is also based on value, what we received considering what was available for the same price. Don't forget the price goes way up during conventions and trade shows so watch out.

Very large spacious elegant room with king size bed (TV in the bathroom - never seen that before!) and included was an excellent breakfast. I thought that the cost was a mistake (!) but it was just good value. Conveniently close to the train station so ideal access to Italy's cheap and comfortable trains.

Go to Parma Take the train - 22 minutes - get cheap ticket - when you arrive in Parma - it will be a bit of a walk to the centre of town - but compared to Bologna - which can be noisy and filled with lots of college students - especially on Fri/Sat - they are noisy not troublesome - but we have college age children - so we are looking for quite - Parma is quite and very family oriented and has tons of delightful shops and a wonderful market. They definately close at 12 noon and the entire town vanishes - so that is the perfect time to eat in one of the outdoor cafes and just linger. - by 2:30 the shops start to open up and the town becomes alive - don't miss it.
