The Hotel San Pietro is off the noisy tourist area of Bardolino, but only a 5 minute stroll from the centre. We booked a room with a balcony which overlooked the front of the hotel and the pool. The staff were excellent although the level of English was variable. The room was fairly standard with the usual amenities but not really up th 4 star rating. The real attractiion was the dining room. Breakfasts were what one would expect with a variety on offer. The evening meal was an experience with a staff who were most helpful. When the menu did not siut my wife for dietary reasons, there was always an alternative. The serving of the fish course was a demonstration of how to fillet. All the staff responded by being talked to. It is a mistake to treat staff as servants.
This was a restful holiday and the hotel contributed in no small measure to this.
