Top Local Tips for Amalfi

If driving to Amalfi, prepare yourself! The road to Amalfi is very scenic....for the passengers only! It is the scariest drive ever with very sharp hairpin curves and a very narrow road. In many places there is room for only one vehicle. There are convex mirrors at the sharp curves and I recommend looking into them anytime you come to a curve because there is no room for two cars to take the curves. Try to disregard any honking behind you and drive slowly. The residents there know that road well and they pass you on curves, and risk their lives....don't risk yours! Also, you may come across a tour bus or two on the drive and a couple of times, I had to back up my car in order to allow the bus coming from the other side to manage the curve. That's why it is important to look into the convex mirrors! The buses will always honk their horns as well as they approach a curve. All in all, it is an experience I will never forget but I like to think that I've become an excellent driver in the process!

Fresh fish Eat...and enjoy...drink Lemoncello after every meal...enjoy walking and do not expect alot of nightlife.
