We stayed at the La Bussola Hotel for our honeymoon and the location right on the sea front and only 5 minutes walk from the town centre were excellent. Our room overlooked the sea which made up for the old and very dark furniture and bathroom; which could do with some refurbishing. Please note that the coblestone road outside of the hotel is very noisy at night times and early mornings even with the balcony door closed. The restaurant manager was very friendly and the food was ok for both breakfast and lunch apart from them cooking the vegetables until they were puree!

From start to finish, we were happy with the Hotel in general - location, exceptionally friendly and helpful hotel staff - made for a really great stay! We were in room 102 which had a bay and deck view from the balcony as well as an aircon. Well worth a visit to make our stay in Amalfi memorable and magical!

Top Local Tips for Amalfi

Bus or ferry I would recommend the ferry to Amalfi if it is available from Napoli as the bus from Salerno can be a nail bitting experience due to the narrow winding sea-cliff path.

Go by boat Because the roads around Amalfi are pretty slow and hair-raising visit some of the local places by boat if you can.

tips from Naples save yourself the bother and take a taxi organised by the hotel, book your tickets on the boat to Capri in advance in the high season
