We stayed here over halloween and were bitterly disappointed by the experience. The major issue was the cold. Our room was freezing cold. My teeth were literally chitterring. We called reception to ask for the heating to be turned on and were promosed that it would be turned on "full blast" "straight away". An hour later the radiator was luke warm, but it did nothing to counter the icy blast coming from the badly fitted windows. The water in the bathroom was equally luke warm and there were hairs in the plug hole. After our evening out, we returned to our, still freezing, room. Giving up on the hope hetaing ever coming on proprerly, we called reception to request an extra blanket. We were informed that the night porter would not be on duty for another 30mins, so we would have to wait. We waited an hour and called again. This time I stressed that the room was like an ice box and an extra blanket was urgently needed to prevent hypothermia. A blanket was sent with a half hearted apology. We complained about the cold in the room as we checked out (very early) next morning. I have also emailed the management to complain. So far, they have not even acknowledged that I have contacted them. I feel very let down. The hotel is not a budget option. Actually, in comparison to hotels of the same rating in the same area, it is more expensive. I have found their refusal to acknowledge my complaint absolutely insulting and a testament to the poor level of service we experienced during our stay. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

Top Local Tips for Wicklow
Avoca & Glendalough Both of these places are very popular attractions to visit Accordingly I would recommend that if you visit either or both on a Saturday or Sunday to arrive before lunchtime as they can get very busy but are worth the visit
Wicklow Historical Gaol The Gaol is well worth a visit. During the day you can have a look around and walk around the yard. If you are in the area on the last Friday of the month, try the night tour. Two very different experiences. The Gaol is reputed to be haunted so have a good look at any photos you take for evidence of the paranormal.
