Possibly one of the worst hotels ive ever visited service was non existent food was of poor quality, NOISE was awful from the bar in the evening and the sounds of furniture being rearranged in the middle of the night for breakfast truly abysmal

Excellent value

We stayed at the Quality hotel for a weekend and we got a really good deal for 2 nights B&B and one dinner. We had a young baby with us. Room was lovely. Standard room. Looking out on the roundabout. Loads of light shining in. Wasn't noisy at all. Wasn't too keen on the dinner and the staff in the restaurant though. Breakfast was nice enough though. Reception staff very friendly. Nice bar and very easy about having children in the bar which was great. Leisure centre was great. Great facilities for babies etc. Also had a pampering few hours and was bliss.
This hotel was great value for the price we paid. We just wanted a weekend away with a young baby and it did the trick.

Average

We (a family of five) stayed a the hotel for one night last week.

To be honest, I wasn't too fond of this hotel. From the outside, it looks quite good. It is quite new - it opened in 2003. However, once inside, you begin to acquire a different view on the hotel.

The reception area is incredibly small, with couches filling up any available space.

When we checked in, the receptionist told us that we had a room only rate. However, we insisted that when we booked online, we were told that breakfast was included. It was soon cleared up though.

At first, we were given rooms on the first floor. When we arrived at the rooms, the smell of cigarette smoke was unbearable. We then had to go back down to reception to ask them to change us to non-smoking rooms (which we had requested when we booked). Again, we were moved efficiently.

Our room looked out onto the courtyard. Beware - people sit in the courtyard beside the bar to smoke which leads to a lot of noise late at night.

We had dinner in the hotel that night, and, my God was it busy!! the waiters were literally running from table to kitchen to table all night. They desperately need more staff. People were waiting for up to five minutes at the door waiting to be seated. It was way to much for the small number of waiters to handle.

The room was in desperate need of a repainting. There were scuffs all over the wall and cracks were appearing in the ceiling.

Overall, the hotel was bearable for one night. Any longer though, and we'd have been changing hotel!!

This is a three star hotel masquerading as a four star. As value for money goes it's about as good as it gets. Edge of town location isn't a problem: after all, Wexford's hardly the biggest place in Ireland. Best of all are the super-spacious rooms. The waitress for breakfast needed an attitude transplant, however. If she doesn't like serving, she shouldn't work in a service industry. Simple, really.

Never again

I'm just back from a 3 night stay at the Quality Hotel in Wexford and I'm very disappointed at the lack of good service in this hotel. The building itself and the leisure centre were very nice and clean but the service in the Restaurant and Bar was shameful.
On arrival we were pleased about the hotel but it went downhill from there. There was usually a delay at the bar when ordering drinks even when there was more bar staff than customers, sometimes during the day there were no staff behind the bar at all. The restaurant was no better. I could write an essay on the bad service! And to top it all off they tried to over charge us when we were checking out. Never again!

Better be a heavy sleeper

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed in this hotel for two nights in July. While the staff were friendly and the facilities good, two problems destroyed the stay. The noise level outside and queuing for a clean breakfast table.

The hotel is shaped like a horse shoe. The right hand side is on the busy N25. The main road to Rosslare Harbour. Sleep on this side and you are awoken very early to Heavy Goods Vehicles heading to and from the harbour. We did for one night but moved to the other side of the hotel that morning. The staff neglected to tell us that the kitchens and stores are on the left of the hotel. Deliveries start at 6:30 am, and it’s one delivery after the next. The bottle bin / bank is also on the left !

Perhaps the inside rooms (smoking rooms) overlooking the smokers courtyard are a better option for a quieter morning, albeit they can be noisy with people from the bar at night.

The noise level and lack of sleep might explain the queue for a clean breakfast table in the mornings.

Good 3 star but devoid of any character

from Dubskin
The hotel is located 2 miles out of Wexford at a busy roundabout on the Dublin road (make sure to request courtyard rooms if you want to avoid noise). The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms are large, catering apparently for large families (1 double bed, 1 single bed). The overall look and feel of the hotel and rooms is bland and uninteresting: a big concrete box and unimaginative room décor, however the rooms are very clean and spacious. The rooms were missing the promised complimentary mineral water (staff delivered it later on request) and no newspaper was delivered to the room (again this was promised when making the reservation). The bar and restaurant area appear to suffer from a lack of cleaning and upkeep and no table service appears to exist in the lounge area. For a three star hotel is was a good choice, though it is completely devoid of any character. The prices quoted varied significantly between various booking engines, the Quality is not worth more than 100 Euro per room!

Spacious, good facilities, large rooms and good value

from GordonWorcester
Stayed here for 3 nights in October. Our room for 3 was the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in. It was kept very clean and was well equipped. The staff were very efficient and extremely helpful. We ate in the restaurant 3 times and found it to be quite good, if a little inconsistent i.e the same dish was sometimes presented differently or was bigger/smaller on different nights, perhaps interpreted differently by different chefs?? The wine was expensive, the cheapest bottle being 20Euro. Breakfasts were good and the leisure centre excellent. Overall good value. The bar did feel a little grubby at times, probably due to the fact that there were often small children in there.

Had a nice weekend in Wexford recently and found this hotel was great. It is modern, the rooms are large and bright and the hotel rates were reasonable.

Great leisure centre - nightmare restaurant!

from A TripAdvisor Member
My initial reaction upon arrival to the hotel was positive. The hotel looked lovely from the exterior - very modern. The hotel rooms were very comfortable and clean and the staff were very nice. The bar was ok - not the cleanest I must say - dirty upholstry & dirty glasses & cutlery. But the biggest disaster of the weekend was the hotel restaurant. I was away for a well deserved break and was really looking forward to having a lovely relaxing evening meal. It was disaster from start to finish. The started lwas under cooked, the replacement starter which was meant to be soup turned out to be the sauce on the Enchilada dish which I later discovered. This dish was also terrible. There was a 'canteen' atmosphere in the restaurant, with staff running around trying to keep customers happy as the food was taking so long. A number of people around us returned meals. After a half hour wait for our ice-cream dessert ( during which waitresses openly fought about where the ice-creams were to go), we left to speak to the manager. Not knowing how to deal with the situation, he agreed to take the price of the meal off the bill - not even a complimentart drink was offered !! Breakfast wasn't much better. Over all, a comfortable hotel with a fantastic leisure centre but bring a packed lunch!!!! or take a very long walk to the town to find a restaurant......it's not as to the town as they claim.
