Go backwards around the Ring! If you're planning to drive the Ring of Kerry, consider going "backwards": Start in Kenmare, and work your way clockwise around the ring. Most traffic (including big lorries) go the other way -- counterclockwise -- and you could get stuck behind them if you go the "regular" way. Note, however, that while going against the flow will tend to give you a better view, you ARE bound to run into situations where you must pass abreast of large vehicles traveling the other way....and this is not fun on narrow roads!
