Fantastic to look at, staff not that helpful

4 of us stayed in Mount Wolseley. On arrival we had trouble finding seat in the only bar area to have lunch, we were told by member of staff to stand and wait and grab table if it became free. Staff really not very helpful or happy! The Hotel has been recently renovated, however we were put in inferior rooms, we asked to be moved and were eventually put into newer and bigger rooms. The spa treatment centre is wonderful and thankfully the staff that ran it were very nice. The restuarant was good with varied choice of wines. Meal excellent. Unfortunately the leisure centre is a complete let down, with shabby dressing rooms, jacuzzi not working and and pool cold. Seemingly it will eventually also be renovated. Overall I expected more, but maybe these were just teething problems.

Local Taxi Drivers I've already said this in the review but we had the best taxi drivers taking us to and from Carlow Town. They were so helpful and suggested a better driving route back to Dublin as well as pointing out taxi ranks in Carlow town, advising on where was good to go out and handing over their own mobile numbers in case we found ourselves stranded in the town over the busy bank holiday weekend nights. And the average far from hotel to Carlow Town is 25 euro.
