The hotel decor is excellent and it's clearly had some money spent on it. It also lends itself beautifully to weddings, which is why I was there. What a shame, then, that they chose to be so penny pinching with the heating. The room was freezing most of the time and the heating was controlled centrally such that it only came on late at night and first thing in the morning. One evening I had to call reception and plead with them to put the heating on; it was so cold that I couldn't bear to change my clothes! The Armada isn't a cheap hotel so I can't understand why they would follow such a bizarre heating policy, especially in November on the west coast of Ireland! That's enough to stop me from ever staying there again, which is a great shame because the staff and surroundings were both great.
