Paid 110 for double room. The first room we got was not cleaned after last victims, the 2nd was tiny. Finally settled on a smoking room which was cleaner and larger than other rooms.(strange)Got bar food downstairs and had to wait 15 mins for service and ask for knife and fork twice for my fish and chips. We also went to the nightclub which is part of the hotel. We left at 2:15am and went back to the front of hotel to get back in, rang the bell and phoned hotel for 25 mins in torrential rain. Finally went back to nightclub and entered thru a back door soaked to the skin. Complained at reception straight away and the following morning. We were told the hotel manager would call us later that day, this was over a week ago. I would avoid this hotel like the plague.
Excellent stop off in town centre

A great little hotel in the centre of town. My husband and I stayed here in March 08. We were on our way from Dublin to visit friends in Kerry and just wanted to get off the road after a long flight from Australia. Having explained to the very helpful Claire on reception that we desperately need peace and quiet, we were given a lovely recently refurbished room at the back of the hotel. The room was very tastefully decorated and even had flowers on the table. After hours of great sleep we had an excellent meal in the A La Carte restaurant downstairs. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Claire on reception. We stayed one night and would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. Very easy to find with private parking at the rear.

Damp and Rude!

Although the reception, restaurant and bar areas look really great and recently refurbished the accommodation rooms themselves are very different. They are cold, very damp and look like they haven't been refurbished in years. When myself and my partner stayed the weather was still quite cold and rainy so the rooms were very cold and very damp. We asked for the heating to be switched on (as there was no control in the rooms for heating) they kindly put the heating on for 1 hour before turning it off again. It was awful, you could see your breath in the rooms! After the first nights stay my partner developed the sniffles which eventually turned into a cold. We even ended up buying a small heater for the room ourselves! It was ridiculous.
Most of the staff were very friendly apart from the main receptionist (Mary)who looked down her nose at us. On one of the nights myself and my partner decided to go to the club night that was held in the hotel ballroom (anyone staying in the hotel gets a discount for the club). The club finishes at around 2.30am. My partner arrived at the hotel main door at about 2.20am (I had left the club a bit earlier) to get in for the night. The receptionist told him that he shouldn't be arriving so late to be let in. The club doesn't finish till 2.30am for goodness sake! My partner was too tired to say anything to her at the time.
They really need to learn a bit more about how to treat customers and that being stingy on the heating doesn't actually save money in the long run!
We will never stay there again and advise anyone else not to.
