My son and I booked 2 single rooms (10 and 11) last Saturday 16th of August. Our accommodation was disgusting.....stuffy rooms with a mask of air freshener and bulbs not working/remote not working and old musty carpets and walls that were painted with cheap paint ears ago. We paid 65 Euro each and we declined breakfast as the state of this so called hotel was substandard and smelt. I am sending this to Failte Ireland and hope they pay a visit.

The Island View is a really great find in this beautiful Village of Malahide. And 10 minutes from Dublin Airport. I have stayed here twice and I am going back in Sept 2005. Their Restaurant, Oscar Taylors is really one of the best you will find, and the price in Euros is excellent, especially given the weak dollar at the moment (I live in California) looking forward to my next stay already.

Very little sleep was had due to the loud clunking and clanking noises that went on through the night. When we complained in the morning, we were told it was an ice making machine. That just makes it worse - the staff actually know what the propblem is but no one has done anything about it.
I'm not exaggerating, I sleep well but I'd defy anyone to sleep through that!!
