Great Service...Great Stay!

We had an excellent stay at the Arbutus Hotel in Killarney. Our group of 14 visited the hotel for a 2 night stay. After a wonderful day of golf at Ballybunion, our group was greeted at the front desk with a warm reception. The rooms were cormfortable and clean. The hotel is situated in an ideal location in Killarney. The staff in the restaurant was a delight as was the bartender in the pub. Their service and attention to detail was world class. We would like to thank the staff for a fine stay.

Wonderful Irish hospitality

Just stayed at the Arbutus Hotel in Killarney last week and it was the highlight of our visit. Located in the center of town it is a boutique family run hotel with a cozy feel and large comfortable rooms.
This is a family run hotel - with the hosts behind the front desk and helping in the dining room. It makes you feel like you are part of the family.
Highly recommend staying here when in Killarney!

I stayed for one night recently and I must say I was most impressed, I have been to Killarney many times and never spotted this hotel. the service was good, but the taste of the full isish the following morning was spot on. it was the nicest taste I had in years. The staff were mainly local Irish which makes a change and they were very friendly. well done Arbutus

What a wonderful, beautiful hotel. This hotel was delightful. Right in the middle of Killarney close to shopping and historic sites. Would love to go back and spend more time at this lovely spot.

Nicest part of our trip

We have just returned from Ireland and spent part of our time at the Arbutus Hotel in Killarney. The hotel is within walking distance of anything that you would want in Killarney (a town similar to our local Saratoga in NY) We could walk to eat, to church, to shop, to drink, to the park, etc. etc. In all of our travels we have never been treated better, in such a friendly, homey way.

When we checked in to the Great Southern in Galway later in our trip, and were met with their stuffy demeanor, we missed the Arbutus even more.

Breakfast was included, from a muffin or scone to a full Irish breakfast, served with Anna's smile and Betty's sense of humor.

When we came back at night, we could go right in to the pub and listen to good Trad music or watch the soccer and hurling games.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Arbutus Hotel in June 2005. I cannot say enough good about this hotel. It is conveniently located in downtown Killarney. You are within walking distance to everything. The staff at the hotel were helpful, kind and pleasant. The rooms were clean, modern and beautifully decorated. The food, especially the Irish Breakfast, was delicious - the best we had in all of Ireland! And the cost for all of this was inexpensive! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. You can bet I'll be staying here on my next trip to Ireland!!

Everything people are saying about the Arbutus is true. It's wonderful, perfect location, friendly staff... Everything but our second to last night was wonderful.
During the 2nd to last night a man opened our hotel door with a key. Around 11:30 ish at night! When my husband asked if there was something he needed, he quickly said "oh, so sorry, wrong room". After I settled down, I went down to set up an appointment with the Hotel Manager first thing in the Morning. I'm very thankful that this was not a person with bad intent but only a man checking to see if the room would be large enough for his family that he was ready to check in. It was uneventful and the management took care to hear my concerns and worries. I wanted to make sure that I would be able to sleep in the hotel and not worry that someone would walk in. All was well, and I'm sure that this sort of thing doesn't happen often. I still give a mark of 4 because the hotel really did provide a wonderful atmosphere and it was truely a perfect location for exploring Killarney. I was satisfied after the incident to stay the last night and I slept like a baby. All is good at Arbutus.

A highlight of our trip to Killarney was our stay at the Arbutus. We felt right at home. Seán, Mrs. Buckley, Ina, and all the staff could not have been more helpful or attentive. The two rooms we stayed in were spacious and very well maintained. The family room easily accommodated 4 people. The atmosphere of Buckley's Pub was warm, friendly, and lively.

We highly recommend staying at the Arbutus.

We traveled from the US and found a warm hospitality and friendliness among staff in of this family-run hotel in the center of Killarney. Rooms were very high quality and the price was reasonable.

The food (in both the bar and dining room) was great and he Guinness and traditional music in the attached Buckley's Bar was well worth the visit.

Highly recommended.

Top Local Tips for Killarney

Personalized Killarney Tour with OLM Executive Travel I was only in Killarney for one day and night so I did not want to sit on a large tour bus going through the Ring of Kerry all day. go to park go visit killarney national park its a great spot lovely cafe/ restaurant some really great walks .a great lake lovely waterfall you could easily spend a day here or hire a jaunting car (a horse & buggy)if you feeling lazy but be sure to make the trip

Kilarney, not to be missed! Kilarney Ireland is one of the most beautiflu areas in Ireland. Be sure to take in the Ring of Kerry Tour, Muckross House and gardens, Jaunty Carts and the colorful pub life at night. The city is clean and safe and the locals are welcoming. Great shopping in smaller stores and strolling the streets is delightful.
