Top Local Tips for Galway
Daytrips from Galway! Galway is a very nice city with a traditional, easygoing atmosphere! Me and my friends walked around there (in the rain..) and it felt like home! The tourist centre of Galway is near Eyre Square, you can't miss it. Here it's possible to book day trips to; the Aran Islands (really recommended!!!), the Burren (this tour was really impressive as well and included the grant Cliffs of Moher!), Connemara (was well worth the money, but not as spectacular as the other tours we've made.) Just before Eyre Square you will find several buses (destinations written on signs in front of the front window). You can actually buy the tickets from the driver, this is even cheaper than when you pre-book tickets at the Tourist Info. Centre. If you are a student, make sure you bring your university/highschool-pass with you. This way you'll get a discount of several euros. Most of these tours cost around 25 euros, and 22/23 euros if you show your student pass.
