As two senior citizens we thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay here. Reception staff were very helpful on arrival. We found the rooms perfect and ideal for television viewing with a great selection of channels. Bar food was very good and evening dinner was exceptional. I would recommend to friends. Best wishes.
What a change

The Hotel has now been completed renovated and the rooms are just great. The food offered in the restaurant was toop class and as we travelled with a group of 60 senior citizens all bar none enjoyed the stay and especially the super service we received from staff. Convient to Galway city and for leisurely beach walks. Well done!!!

On arrival, we received our room which had two single beds pushed together with single bed clothes resting folded on top. (I had not specified on booking which type of accommodation I required). We went down to reception and asked for bed to be made up with double bed clothes. This was no problem and we were told we would get another room immediately. We then proceeded to the bar area where we had a lovely lunch served by great staff. Reception staff then came to us and asked our permission to move our bags to our new room and gave us our new keys. Room/bathroom was excellent.
We had our dinner in the hotel later that night which was excellent , plates/food hot etc. Food arrived exactly as ordered.
Breakfasts each morning were fantastic, again everything that you could possibly want was there. Staff again could not be more helpful. There was some building work going on but no disruption. Workers were only seen when loading metal skips at the side of the hotel. This hotel is just across the road from the sea and is a lovely walk from Galway. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

I was over here in Galway with a few friends of mine, when we arrived at the hotel it was a construction site! We were told they were doing minor renovations on the phone when we called the hotel for directions from Shannon airport! The food was not up to standard the restaurant staff were very bad they mixed up orders and didn't apologise! The manager didn't offer any help whatsoever either. The bar was quite busy when we had drinks but the girl behind the bar did a fantastic job she seemed to be the only person in this hotel with their head screwed on right. Never the less we very much enjoyed our stay in Galway but would never go back to this hotel!

First and foremost, the state of the outside of the hotel is very unappealing!
I was in the bar with a work coleague having a few drinks.Your bar staff have to put up with a lot of grief from managerial figures telling them what, and how to do their jobs.
In my oppinion if your going to employ non-nationals they should be able to understand the Irish people. I am all for non-nationals working in this country dont get me wrong, but it seemed the only people that did any work in your hotel bar were the local young lads and a couple of lovely girls studying over here. The night porter clearly refused to do any work for them, when a barrel needed changing or more ice needed they would have to go out of their way to do somebody elses work which then made myself and other paying customers wait for our drinks.

Knock the cobwebs off you! A must in Salthill, whatever the weather is to walk up and down the prom before lunch and watch the other people doing it, there's a taste of salt on the air and a breeze that would knock the cobwebs off you!
