Excellent location, clean, comfortable and very cheap

A room for two, one Tuesday night, cost less than 60 euros. Rathmines is a lovely place to stay, and is very convenient for the centre of Dublin. The reception staff arranged very cheap car parking for us, even though the website warns that there is no parking at the hotel itself. The room was en suite, large, clean and comfortable, and had all the facilities you might need (WiFi, tea and coffee, TV etc.) The breakfast, brought to the room, cost 6 euros, for tea or coffee, juice, cereal, toast and fruit (lots of it). This was a bargain. I would not have believed that you could stay in such comfort in central Dublin for this sort of price.

Airport - City transfer Get a bus pass. you can buy it from the airport and use it throughout the whole city.
Buses!! There are buses everywhere and to everywhere but it is hard to sort them out. Use the hop on hop off tourist bus with a 3 day pass as you can get anywhere in the city centre with it.If there are 2 or more of you it is nearly as cheap, and much easier, to get a taxi to and from the airport than try to use the air coach and buses.
Guiness Storehouse The Guiness storehouse is a must see.
