This hotel is great if you like live music. Whether you are in the pub for the night or are staying there it is well worth a visit. The talent in the pub is brilliant and the staff are really friendly and will go out of their way to help you.

Ideal hotel for travlers and party goers, families may find the hotel on the noisey side. However we had a great time and certainly would use the Arlington again.

Historical Traveller Reviews of The Arlington Hotel

Great location, but noisy

from smm648
We just got back from an Easter trip to Ireland and rounded off our trip with a two night stay at the Arlington Hotel. The hotel is in a great location, we were able to walk to where we wanted to go and for the tourist who likes to wander around, the hotel was a great base to be at. I found our room to be below par. The bed was but two double beds moved next to one another and the mattresses were two different heights. The shower was small (which is okay) but the sealing was coming off and the door was hard to shut. There was a constant humming and ratteling that we heard every night. It would go off for a few minutes, then would stay on for 20 minutes. The breakfast was okay, it was all you can eat. The Arlington was an okay hotel, a good 3 star hotel.

Excellent location

Just returned from Easter break at the Arlington. Excellent location. Very central. Friendly staff, nice room with king size bed. Room clean with plenty of fresh towels. Found restauarant to be somewhat disorganised although staff tried their bestand were apologetic for delays. Very busy bar, good "free" entertainment. Above average 3 star. Good value in a very expensive city.

Great stay in a great location

from NancyGMinnesota
My sisters and I had a great stay at the Arlington Hotel March 19-21. We were able to park our car there in underground parking and walk or take a city hop on/off tour bus the rest of the time we stayed because we were so close to everything we wanted to see. We enjoyed the evening dinner and Irish dance show in the hotel for a very reasonable price. Our room was small, but clean and comfortable with a great shower/bath. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating during our stay. I would recommend this hotel mostly for the location because you're on the River Liffey, on the north side, just off O'Connell street bridge, so you're not in the middle of the action on the south side of the river where it can be a little wild at night. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Restaurant disorganised!

Just got back from a 2 night stay. Hotel is definitely a three star. The hotel itself is in a great location. Use the local bus from the airport at 1.75 euro each way. It takes 45 minutes.

The reception staff at the hotel are great. Make sure you book a table for evening meal as the restaurant/bar is very busy. There were quite a few complaints about the service in the restaurant. If you are looking for 'typically Irish' staff then forget it as most are either Chinese or Eastern european. The steak meal was awful.

The fiddle group and the irish dancers were excellent (and free).

The breakfast is very good (all you can eat).

Overall, this is a very good base for a short stay in Dublin. Just over the bridge from Temple Bar.

I would recomend Toffes cafe bar. Excellent service and great food.

Brilliant hotel

Just returned to England from our stay at the Arlington. What can I say - from the minute we arrived staff were very friendly and super efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms were nicely furnished and really clean. Fresh towels daily. We booked the Spring Madness deal (2 nights bed & breakfast plus 1 evening meal) for a mere 195 euros per couple. (Approx £140 per couple for the whole stay). excellent value for money and food was superb. Entertainment each evening included Irish dancers and singers. Very entertaining and a great atmosphere. Would reccommend highly and we will definitely visit them again soon. Centrally located right on the River Liffey beside O'Connell bridge. Ideal location.

We had a lovely time at this hotel when we stayed there Feb. 13-15.

Staff were friendly, although the girls in the restaurant didn't really now what they were doing. Apparently they were mostly new, so that should change in the near future.

The Arlington is in the center of Dublin. Almost anything you will want to see can be reached by foot. We bought a rambler ticket for Dublin busses, a waste of money.

The Arlington hast the "Knightsbridge Bar" on the ground floor. Here Irish Folk music and dance are performed daily! We even saw a lot of irish there, that should tell you how good it was. The Bar has about 500 seats and was crowded, still we couldn't hear a bit in our room on the second floor.

The Irish Breakfast was excellent, although the breakfast room (the restaurant in the afternoon) is pretty small. Getting up early will save you a lot of time!

Although Dublin is the most expensive city I've been to, it beats London by far, the Arlington was a real bargain at 170 Euro for two nights including a complementary dinner. Check out the hotel's website for a good rate.

We'll go there again!

Brillant Hotel

We stayed at the Arlington Hotel on the 1st Feb for 2 nights for my Husband's birthday.
We got a really good deal £120 for 2 nights including Breakfast and one evening meal!
We asked for a nice room as it was my husbands birthday, it was great, a HUGE kingsize bed and a third bed, 2 big chairs and a sofa, a good size bathroom and a nice view of the River Liffey.
The hotel itself has a unique atmosphere with all the armour and wood interior, very friendly.
The bar is of a large size serving irish food, good irish music and dancing, this available 7 nights a week and is free entry. We were there on a Tues night and it was really busy with people and a great Irish atmosphere.
The location is fantastic as you are just around the corner from O'Connell Street where you can catch all the tour buses etc.
The breakfast in the hotel is buffet style serving full irish breakfast and continental breakfast and is very nice and tasty.
To sum up, this is a perfect hotel for a short break, excellent value and a lovely Irish welcome.

Fantastic Hotel!!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Arlington Hotel and cannot praise this hotel enough.
The location is perfect, right by the River Liffey opposite Temple Bar. It is an ideal base for exploring the city, less than a minutes walk from O'Connell bridge.
As soon as you walk in you are met with a long lobby area with oak beams, suits of armour and big comfy sofas. We were given Room 234, a huge room overlooking the river. The room was well furnished with very large bed and three piece suite. Also very clean.
After reading other reviews about the bar and entertainment we just had to try it. And we weren't disappointed. We ate from the set menu (27euros), food was very nice and well presented and I can recommend the Steak & Guinness Pie.
The Irish dancing was fantastic, I couldn't believe how busy the bar was, and it was only Tuesday night! Book a table if possible.
The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome.
I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and I will definately return.

Great Hotel.

Best Hotel I have ever stayed in. We stayed at the Arlington for our silver wedding and found the staff to be friendly, helpful and the quality of the room was superb. Food was very good and everything you need is on your doorstep. Would recommend it to anyone.

the luas The luas is brilliant for getting around and cheap, we went to Tallaght where there is a brilliant shopping centre

Buses Take up the bus tour which allows you to hop on and off for 24hours. It is 14 euros pp and has stops near all the attractions such as the Guiness factory which was good. The airbus from the airport was good value as well depending on where you are staying ask the driver for advice.
