First time stay at the Portebello, but hopefully won't be the last. Excellent service, the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. The rooms are nice & clean, tea & coffee making facilities. The prices are good. Would definitely recommend to all my friends.

A gem of a hotel with a lovely Irish breakfast and excellent service. The room was clean and tidy with all the mod cons. The location was perfect as we were out of Dublin city centre, but could go in and out as we pleased using the Dublin pass. Also easy access to the airport on the 16a bus just down the road at 2 euros each.

Being fairly well travelled, and not expecting much from the hotel as it was booked through my partners company, I was still shocked by the service levels in this hotel. We moved rooms 3 times, as the first room had such a terrible stench, it was unbearable. The second room was half the size, with only one tiny window... in the roof. The third room was slightly bigger, but we were eaten alive. Now Im not sure if this was due to fleas, mosquitos or bed lice (as I have subsequently read from another reviewer of the same hotel). Although most of the staff were great (especially Maria, the breakfast waitress), some of the front desk staff were really obnoxious and not helpful at all. The night porter (David) is probably the rudest person I have ever met. I met him while he was smoking in the lounge area while watching TV - very professional. So no, I will not be back to this hotel in a hurry.

Room was comfortable and clean, I was situated at back of hotel so view from room wasn’t very nice ( a net curtain on the window would have solved this) but it was quiet enough I could hear music from club but it did not prevent me from getting to sleep. breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty on offer to eat service was excellent. although hotel was a good bit away from city centre I didn’t mind the walk and there is a good bus service all in all I would say that the Portobello provided my partner and I with all our needs for our short stay and would be happy to recommend the hotel to friends.
