Great Place to Stay!!

Wow the staff was so nice in making sure I was comfortable for this stay. The rooms were very clean and very big! It was just me and they upgraded me for no charge, a very nice staff I must admit. Some things I didn't like...not many channels on basic TV...they need to upgrade their TV's. Couldn't get SkyNews or CNN for free. Other downside was not really their fault, but the noise from the pub across the street was pretty loud at night, but that's living in the city for you. Great place, I recommend it for the money, you'll love it!

Great in Temple Bar area

from A TripAdvisor Member
We loved this hotel, and stayed longer than we originally planned. (February 2005) Our one complaint involves temperature - the room was overly warm, and we were forced to open the window at night. Toward the weekend, being it is in the "party" area of Dublin, it was noisy on the street. Had we kept the window up, it would not have bothered us at all.

The room was small but nice, and compared to the other hotel rates in the area, we were extremely pleased with it.

Terrible. Better off in a tent.

from GaryxG
The hotel's very own nightclub is situated on the ground floor of the hotel. I lay awake from 11pm until 2.30am due to seriously excessive noise. I went up to the top floor of the hotel and could even hear the music from there.

It was noise like I've never heard before. I could feel the bass through my pillow and the bath was making a buzzing noise as the low frequency sounds went through it.

The hotel staff did nothing about it despite me and other guests complaining.

The junior staff were empathatic and tried to be as helpful as possible, but the senior staff told me I should have stayed somewhere else if I didn't like it.

I genuinely would have slept better in a tent.

I will never stay in this hotel again.

fantastic location, centre of the action

from johnni_sarah
This hotel is fantastic if you can't afford the prices of the more famous and overpriced hotels in the centre. The bars downstairs are fantastic when you come back from a few drinks on town, and still want a lively atmostphere, perfect for my partner and myself who are in our early 20's.
Only petty niggle is that we ordered breakfast to our room and after an hour patient wait we found out that they forgot it and we had missed the breakfast, we pointed out that in fact this was not our fault and without quibble they brought us up our breakfast free of charge.

Have been to this hotel before and loved it then

Have been to this hotel before and loved it then, so I decide to treat my partner, sister and her partner to a holiday here. The room was lovely and spacious. Breakfasts in the morning were wonderful. They set you up for the whole day. There was something available for everyone who have specific dietery requirements. Only bad thing, well not bad really but a bit annoying, was that we didn`t get biscuits in our room at the weekend. (We actually stayed for a week and my sister & partner joined us and stayed for the 3 nights. They only got biscuits for their tea on one night.) I know it is petty but the biscuits were really nice.

Fantastic Location!!

Fantastic location for nights (and days) out in Temple Bar. The Turks Head bar is amazing and has to be seen to be believed. Rooms were fine and the staff are friendly enough. Overall, good value for money and a location that couldn't be bettered.

Myself and 4 friends stayed at the Hotel last june. Age range 25 - 35

We serched for weeks to find a Hotel which was just out of Temple Bar and stumbled across The Paramount. We had a fantastic stay here and could not fault a thing.

Location: Perfect a few mins walk to local nightlife, shops Restuarants which all lived up to expectations
Food: Just what you need to start your day off. You had ample of selection to choose.
Cleanliness: Spotless
Staff: Very polite and helpful morning, noon and night.
Would definatly stay here again :)

For anyone wnating to stay in Dublin this is an idea hotel to stay at.

Never Again

from MrsTrellis73
After many memorable trips to Dublin, I can quite honestly say that my latest visit - staying at this hotel - has put me off going again!!
A group consisting of family and friends spent 3 days there last summer, and we were all disillusioned by various aspects of our stay.
As the bar was a public bar, it meant that there was nowhere for us to relax with the young people (late teenagers) of our party in the evening - something we weren't told on booking the hotel. This wouldn't have been too bad if the rooms were nice, but they were to be honest completely awful. They were too hot, dark, smelly and dirty with shoddy decor and grimy bathrooms. Several of us couldn't even open the window at night as the generator or fan above the kitchen was emitting steam, heat and a most unsavoury stench! Over 3 nights we hardly got any sleep due to doors slamming and people shouting within the hotel. The 'Do Not Disturb' sign was placed on our door every night, but it still didn't prevent the housemaids knocking loudly and even walking into our room while we were present - often before 8 in the morning!
One evening the staff in the bar were down right rude and insulting when asking one of our party if they were old enough to be there (he was 20!!).
I am hugely disappointed with the time we spent at the Paramount, and am sorry to say that it has tainted my view of Dublin as a short break location.

Nothing Too much trouble, fantastic hotel.

from A TripAdvisor Member
Just stayed at this hotel which was a suprise for my husbands birthday. I stayed at the Castle hotel last year which was too far out and very run down. This hotel is in a prime location whilst not being in the thick of the noise of Temple Bar. Everything you could wish to see and do is in close proximity. The hotel staff I found were very polite and helpful, the restaurant for breakfast is exceptional nothing was too much trouble the service was attentive and excellent, very well run. I sent an email to the hotel asking for a nice room they gave me a room on the top floor, I could not have asked for a better room. I am a travel agent in the UK and will definitely recommend this to my clients. Good Value for money.

Perfect Location, Great Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
I recently stayed at the Paramount Hotel for 2 nights while visting Dublin. I was really impressed. This boutique hotel is in the heart of the lively Temple Bar area. It's walking distance to most of the city's tourist sights and surrounded by restaurants, shops, pubs, and bars. The staff was really accomodating. I would DEFINITELY stay there again! The only compliant I have is there was quite a bit of noise at night, so if you're looking for a quiet place to stay, Temple Bar as a whole should be avoided.

In The Heart Of It All

from Clydon
A wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar. 2 min. (walk) from Christ Church Cathedral, 5 min. from Trinity and famed Grafton street, and across the street from City Hall and Dublin Castle. Restaurants, shops, and pubs abound. You are within walking distance of virtually everything a tourist is oblidged to see in this classic capital. Affordable, given the location, and though the rooms are a touch smaller than most North Americans would be used to, it was a lot quieter than we had expected. Don't rent your car until leaving Dublin ... as parking is a premium, and the traffic chaotic. The perfect place to be if you don't mind sacrificing tranquility for location.

Top Local Tips for Dublin

Dublin has it all in spades Whatever you plan, however long your stay, there is far more to do. out for special offers Some of the restaurants have offers outside, but when you go in 'The Offer' is at a different time.

Off the beaten track A small but really interesting place to see: Number 29, Fitzwilliam St. Georgian house with authentic furniture and friendly staff.
