Worst hotel in Ireland

Just returned from a 6 day stay and couldn't wait to leave. We would have if we hadn't paid up front. The room was noisy, could hear all the noise outside all through the night. The curtains were so thin that the street lighting lit up the room all night. The bathroom was so tiny you couldn't swing a cat,the sink was that small you couldn't even fill the kettle. Their was no where to even put your toothbrush. The plug for an electric razor was in a light above the sink so the only place to put the razor whilst charging it was in the sink. The breakfast put an Irish breakfast to shame. 2 mornings we only got half of an egg, the mushrooms were like crisps, the beans were cheap and cold and the tomato if there was some was uncooked. The staff in the resturant, if they weren't arguing with one another, they were sulking. All the head barman did was grunt at you as if you were trash. Out of all the staff, only 2 of the receptionists were civil. I had looked at the site before we booked and it stated all the rooms were beautifully done out well they didn't see ours, it was room 111.
A more than pleasant surprise

Just returned from a two night break at O'sheas and after reading reviews on this site, I was not looking forward to my stay.

I am however delighted to say that my fears were unfounded. The hotel was spotless, rooms were cleaned to a high standard and carpets had been well hoovered! The breakfast was delicious and we chose to have dinner in the hotel, which was equally as tasty, good menu, good presentation served by helpful and courteous staff. All staff including the manager Mr McCormack were excellent and ensured that myself and three friends had a brilliant stay.
Great Location with easy access to O'connell Street etc. Would definately recommend this spotless, friendly hotel to anyone. I will definately stay here again on my next Dublin visit.
dont think it has been checked by tourist board

I think this must be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was not clean, ring marks on furniture, shower very small room smelled of drains. Beds were clean only thing going for this place and towels. Carpet not hoovered very well. I would not stay in this hotel again. We did get moved to another room bit better. The reason we had to stay is they ask you to pay first. I would recommend anybody that has booked this hotel view the rooms before you pay. I have to say food was good, polish staff were friendly, Irish entertainment ok. Best place to go for entertaniment is clifton court hotel. I am sorry to say but I think this hotel just looks for a quick turnover. I work in a 3 star hotel my boss always says when you go into a hotel room you should feel you are the only one ever to use this room not in this case.

Stayed in room 114 right above main rd, noise was unbelievable from traffic, situated right on junction. heating in room was so high it was like a sauna, we had no control, so had to have window open, next day change room to 119, view over back of hotel very bleak but quite, you have to laugh because the heating was not on in this room again had no control, hard to believe but we could not close window, latch was broken we had to tie it shut. Cleanliness of rooms good, food was excellent, pub area was good, little bit pricey 4.80 euros for a pint. Location for everything in Dublin good. But would we stay again? SORRY BUT NO.

Stayed for three nights in January - we had dinner each night - the food was great, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant manager was a real gent. The rooms were small but very pleasant - would return again.
Wouldn't recommend it

This hotel smelt very musty and was more like a hostel than a hotel. The staff were very rude, especially the manager.

A pure nightmare! I was there for only one night and it was enough to make an impression on this hotel. Never check in again.

The service was good; the price was right; the food was great and it was definitely convenient for learning about Dublin without alot of extra travel time.
