Within 2mins of booking-in, my husband became stuck in the lift. No apology was given, just the comment 'He had luggage'. When we eventually reached our third floor room it was tiny and looked out onto an alley. This alley became a playground for drunken disco users and smokers expelled from inside. Screaming shouting and swearing continued until 4am. Request for extra pillow went unheeded and although bed was made each day room was not cleaned during 4 day stay. This was advertised as a non-smoking building and despite signs to that effect, the entire third floor stank of cigarette smoke. On the final evening we were both trapped in the lift for 20 mins. The Barman had to race around building doing something to the electrics. His response to my complaint was 'Sorry, I'll tell the management'. This event meant I had to climb three floors back up to my room, which, as an arthritis sufferer, was no mean feat. The only redeeming feature of this hotel was the breakfast. Food was...... Noise Noise Noise & Disinterested Staff

Booked here as I was doing the Dublin Marathon and needed somewhere central. Took 2 days of pestering to get a replacement kettle. No replacement shaving light was forthcoming, though. Bathroom fitments hanging on by their rawplugs. Nightclub thumping away till 3 a.m. each night - cost me a good half hour of energy levels for my run. I do not reccommend staying here unless you get blind drunk yourself and can sleep through the din. It's a wonder the club's clientele hold down jobs if they're supping up here each night. Ear plugs will not work due to the incessant thumping sound system. Stay at the Hilton - it'll be worth it for the sake of interested staff and a decent night's kip. Would and wouldn't recommend!

This was an interesting stay. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, some didn't seem to care if you were there. THERE IS COPPER FACE JACKS NIGHTCLUB downstairs so if you are bothered by loud noise at night, this is not a place for you to stay. The bass from the nightclub reaches the 3rd floor and the outside becomes chaotic after hours. I once came back late, and there were drunk people sprawled all over the reception area and in the lift. The lift is another story...i got trapped in it 3 times during my week stay. It locked up and they had to pry the doors open and reset the electricity! Very uncomfortable. However i will say, for the prime location of this building and the money you pay, it's not a bad deal for dublin. So... take the stairs and bring a good pair of earplugs and you'll be all set!!
