Such a good hotel

Great hotel for a group weekend away, really cheap. It's not exactly juries, but it was clean. Got fresh towels and a big roll every day, didnt here any noise and it was the weekend!! Just your normal rustle and buslte, fry up the next morning was lovely, the staff were really helpful and didn't make us pay extra when one of our group dropped out. They looked after our bags for a whole day after we checked out as well, definitely stay there.

The worst hotel I ever have seen, it was so dirty that it is hard to describe. How can you run a hotel like this. I would not sleep there even one night. (We moved from the place before the first night)

Comfortable and welcoming

The staff is really welcoming and the rooms - although simple - are comfortable. I didn't really hear the noise from the pub in my room but it was probably because I was at the 2nd floor and it was at the beginning of the week. I had a single room not en suite, but I still had a sink and towels changed everyday. Well, I'll come back here, for sure, considering the price, the good food and the comfort!

Cheap and cheerful and LOUD

Room clean, staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast great, however.... the music from the bar would waken the dead and sleep impossible until 2.30am when all was quiet. Also the toilet seat was broken and not replaced as "it was the weekend!!!". Great value hotel, very central, area shabby and rundown, if it wasn't for the racket from the bar and nightclub, I would stay there again, but in the intersets of a good nights sleep, no thanks.

Cheap and cheerful, the staff were very helpful and the bed and the grub were o.k. too! What more could anyone expect for the price in Dublin? Right enough, the noise from the band in the pub would wake the dead, but what the hell, it's a Holliday. Anybody selling earmuffs would make a fortune. Hope to come back sometime, R.Whyte, Aberdeen

My partner and a friend stayed here for the millennium and it was dreadful! The pub below was noisy and cigarette smoke seeped through the floorboards. Bedding was awful and breakfast was laughable! - needless to say, we moved to another hotel in the city and had a much better experience. This trip taught me never to go with a budget hotel again!

Having a great time in the Gate just now. Right beside O'Connell street, clean and a great music bar downstairs with the best staff I've seen in a while.

Very easy to find and much better value than other hotels I've stayed at in Dublin.

I have stayed on Gate Hotel from the 17 of November to the 20 of November. The services was very good because after I was coming over a pneumonia after 1 month I have not air in my lung to take my suitcase up to my room and there was a woman there help to take it up for me. The staff in breakfast room are very nice and the staff there cleaning the room are nice too. There was a woman in reception Friday and Monday this day when I comes to the hotel and when I should live from the hotel and she are a very nice person she have times to speak with her customers. I thank all the people there are on Gate Hotel for these 3 wonderful days I have in Dublin

I was in Dublin from the 17 of November to the 20 of Novemeber and I have some very good days on the Gate Hote,The music in the bar are terrible and high.The staff is very kind and nice and they have time to speak with there guest.This woman there was in reception Friday and Monday and she was very nice against me.
Maybe I coming back in 2007

I have staying in Gate Hotel from the 17 of November to the 20 of November and the staff is very nice and helpful, there was one day where my room not was clean but this is okay with me. I hope I come back to Dublin again and if I not can't get another hotel I will take Gate Hotel again this is very central 5 minutes from O'Connell Street.

dublin bus The Airlink bus will take you into the centre of Dublin passing most of the major hotels. A return ticket is 11euros. This bus is every 20 minutes and is very much cheaper than the taxis.
