We chose the Finnstown as the finale to our honeymoon. We were looking for a touch of class without the modern feel. We found it here. An "old world" hotel approached via an impressive gateway and tree lined driveway.
The entrance into the house created the feeling of a manor house rather than a hotel.
The staff was wonderful and couldn't have done more to make our stay special. Unlike most honeymooners, we took our 3 year old boy with us. The staff treated him like royalty and made his stay special as well. They even arranged a child minder so that we could make use of the excellent restaurant. A word of note: you don't need an alarm clock if the peacocks are about early!!!

All year fun The Finnstown has so much on offer that the weather becomes unimportant. This is a great year-round holiday destination.

Fort Lucan - Situated over the Liffey at the back of Lucan Great for kids under 12 Fort/Medieval themed adventure play park to run off steam. Crazy golf, climbing, slides, pedal carts and a couple of water slides. Nothing elaborate or sophisticated but fun and reasonable (9 euros for kids, 3 euros including a cup of tea for adults) Good way to spend 2 or 3 hours.

La Banca Excellent dining alternative in Lucan village.
